The midrange and treble were more transparent sounding and the bass firmed up significantly. The Buchardt S400 are transparent enough that any upstream changes become audible almost immediately. Webtake on this amplifier is very positive. It has excellent sound, right up there with the Croft Integrated. Where the Croft is a tiny bit warmer, this Belles Aria is a bit more dynamic. The Belles Aria does have the advantage over the Croft of a remote control, way more power, and a headphone amplifier.
