WebDec 30, 2014 · Did some clean up work on the lathe today :D The lead screw was covered in oil and swarf. It's a pain to clean while on the lathe so I thought I'd take it off. A bit of compressed air cleaned it up nicely and it is ready to go back onto the lathe. All went well so I thought I'd take the apron off as well just to see how the half nuts looking.

WebThe little that remained (that missed the tray) after removing and dumping the tray was easy to brush away. I have also found cleaning easier by just removing the back splash. I really don’t think that feature scales down very well to a small lathe and just makes for tight clearance when trying to do something like clean. Chuck K.
